Malic Amalya is an experimental filmmaker.

Malic holds an MFA in Moving Image from the University of Illinois, Chicago, a MA in History and Theory of Contemporary Art from the San Francisco Art Institute. As an undergraduate at Hampshire College, Malic challenged wrote his Division III on the the ways that white heroines, such as Ripley from Alien and Sarah Connor from Terminator II, gain power through their whiteness.

Malic is an adjunct professor at the California College of the Arts (CCA) and an instructor in the Cinema Department at CCSF. At CCA, Malic teaches 4D: Time-Based Narrative (video production) in the First Year Program,
